The horses don't run there often, and everything is on the turf, but the money/purses are great, the jockey colony actually stronger than what was in for Derby Week at Churchill and the races, so very challenging.
I speak, of course, of Kentucky Downs. A track you look at, scratch your head and say..."is this really in Kentucky ?" (And, actually it's not too far from Tennessee but we wont get into that here...) European racing style.
There are five huge stakes races closing out the card today there (four of them Grade III) and almost $2 million dollars at stake, so let's look at them. There is rain predicted for that part of the state later today and the turf could go from firm to yielding or slow, so keep that in mind
