HANDICAPPING HEROES -- CHURCHILL DOWNS -- RESULTS FROM 11/19/17
The Handicappers met the challenge of the late Pick 4 at Churchill Downs yesterday. The weather played a role on their picks, there were scratches and sloppy conditions after the 8th race for the dirt runners and the featured 10th race was taken off the grass and moved to the dirt surface.
Here's how it went:
ARCHIE, after scratches, ended up with 12 trying the track. Of those, he had three winners and two places. He had an exacta. His best bet of the day, Dona Bruja, scratched. His value play Absolute Love, ran second. He did hit on his top jock, Corey Lanerie, in Race 11. Archie ends up with 25 points.
PAULIE ended up with 14 runners breaking from the gate. Of those, he had three winners, two seconds and one show. He also had an exacta that paid quite well. His best bet of the day Linda did not win, his value play The Great Generation came up short also but his top jock of the sequence Brian Hernandez, Jr won on Mythical Tale. Paulie finishes second on the day with 26 points.
SCOTT had 15 horses go for the money. He saw three of them win, three run second and one finish third. Scott hit two exactas. His best bet of the day, Neapolitan, won. His value play, Cara Blythe, finished second and he had Corey Lanerie as his top jock of the sequence...who won on Neapolitan. Scott takes the day with 40 points.
Individually, the Handicappers had no Pick 3's or Pick 4's but if you had combined their picks...you would have spent $250 on the Pick 4 and $50 on each Pick 3 and taken the four race sequence and both Pick 3's down. I know, a lot to invest, but tickets that you could have taken to the window to cash out. As Scott is fond of saying, we can give you winners but we can't fix the payouts. WE GIVE YOU WINNERS AT HANDICAPPING HEROES AND WE DO IT EACH WEEK.
CUMULATIVE TOTALS
ARCHIE -- 383
SCOTT -- 338
PAULIE -- 332
