ELLIS PARK PICKS -- 7/10/21

With a few days before Saratoga fires up, I thought I'd take a look at Kentucky's Ellis Park today for the Paulie Picks. A nice card today in Henderson, KY -- with three on the turf and a three maiden affairs and an allowance race in the final four of the day there. It is raining there, so be ready if they pull them from the turf to the dirt and the usual resulting scratches. I'll try to get in an update the picks if that happens.

A fairly good colony of Churchill jockeys are at Ellis and some notable trainers as well, so let's go down to the Soy Bean patch and pick a few winners!

THE PLAY:

I've had some success with the Pick 4 recently down there over the past couple of days , and. I've approached it by "using speed" -- or the horses that get out quickly. That's been on the dirt a bubch, though, so the turf could prove to be a different monster. I'll go four deep in each of the races (5-8) today and see if I can take it down.

Scratches could play a big part in it if they pull stuff off the turd, so be ready.

Best of luck and let's hope it stays dry and the turf suitable to run on...
